Your Session

Newborn Sessions:

When should I schedule my newborns session?: The best time to schedule your newborn session is during your pregnancy.  We will add your expected due date to our calendar. When your  baby arrives give us a call or text and we will finalize your session date. If you happen to stumble across our site after your baby is born we will try our best to squeeze you in before the 16 day mark.

What age is considered newborn?:  Newborn sessions should occur within the first 16 days of life.  Why this early? After 2-3 weeks our little newborns lose their womb-like behavior. We want them curly, comfy and ready for some sleep. Most of the newborns shown in our gallery are less than 16 days old.

Does Elzee Photography provide the props?: Elzee Photography provides mostly all the props unless you wanted something specific for your session. You can view some of our props here.

I want to bring a special item and have my baby photographed with it, is that okay?: Yes, absolutely. We encourage our clients to bring vintage items, family heirlooms, culture dress, and anything you want to include in the session.

How long does a newborn session take?: Most newborn sessions take anywhere from 1.5 hour to 3 hours. Each child is different and some sleep very well and some don’t. Please be prepared to spend up to 3 hours in the studio.

What if my baby does not sleep?: If your baby does not sleep after 45 minutes we send you home and reschedule a new date. This sometimes happen when the baby is cluster feeding and nothing we do settles them. We cannot continue to session while the baby is not asleep.

What days does Elzee Photography do Newborn sessions?: Elzee Photography only does newborn sessions Monday through Friday at 10:00am. We do not do newborn session’s on the weekends.

My Style:
Before you book your session please take a look at my galleries and ask yourself  “Does Elzee Photography fit my style?” Newborn sessions generally take 2-3 hours and requires patience as we work to keep your child as comfortable as possible. Newborns may take some time to fall asleep and get comfy, which is the best time for all the cute positions mothers love. Rest assured; your baby’s safety is our number one priority. We take every precaution to insure the safety of your child. If you want a private, quiet and unrushed session to capture your newborn at their sweetest moments, then contact us!
